Durban Details- Jaco Benade & MJ Lourens. 9th October 2008
Gallery 415 was extremely honoured to have showcased works by these two accomplished fine artists.
MJ Lourens had already made a name for himself in Gauteng with his stunning cityscapes. This was his second visit to Durban following a hugely successful sell-out show at 415 in 2007. Having already made a name for himself here, many of his paintings sold within minutes of the door opening, creating an air of great excitement.
This was Jaco Benade first visit to Durban. Already an accomplished Pretoria artist having won numerous awards for his paintings, he was persuaded by his friend MJ to visited Durban in early August, to photograph and absorb all the good things us Durbanites often take for granted. Three months later they were back, bringing with them the products of their inspired visit.
Durban buyers showed a keen interest in Jaco's works. Sales were slow to start, but ended on a high note with many paintings selling a week or so after the opening and several commission requests also followed.
Sales of paintings are still open as per availability and prices below. Click on the pics below to enlarge. Commission enquires click here.
